A healing weekend of comfort, warmth, and light in the depths of winter.
You're taking in the mountain views from the porch, the cold air grounding you back into your body after one of the most beautiful rituals you've ever been a part of. You can feel the shift, you can feel something within you become alive again. Normally this part of winter is so dark and dreary, but being here at the hygge retreat has shown you a whole new way to embrace this season. It was the promise of a weekend where you'd get to wear sweats, have meals prepared for you, enjoy good company and get to experience some spiritual self-care that got you here, but now you see that it was so much bigger than that.
After everyone has some time to integrate the energy of the ritual, the private cook has set up stations for us to bake cookies. It is so nice to have the time to do something like this slowly and with intention. You can't remember the last time you really took the time to make homemade cookies. The ovens are pre-heating and the cook will take care of the rest as we get comfy in front of the fire for the blind book date. You love reading the different descriptions of the books- fiction, nonfiction, poetry, etc. and can't wait to see what book you end up with. After a fun game, everyone ends up with a book to read and relax with as we enjoy our freshly baked cookies. There is something so intimate and lovely about a group of people quietly reading together. No pressure to maintain conversation, just enjoying being with each other.
Chelsie has brought creativity to this retreat in such fun ways. You weren't sure what to think of a mindful poetry activity, but you surprised yourself. You always wondered how you could bring more romantic energy into your life and this has inspired you. Writing poetry, wrapped in a blanket, listening to the fire crackle.
After these activities, it's open time for whatever our hearts want to do while Chelsie has the last few one on one sessions. You so appreciate that she let these sessions be open- you weren't quite sure if you wanted a reiki healing, card reading, or just some one on one time for her to hold some space for you.
As you wait for your one on one session, you write in your journal about your time at the retreat. You are so grateful to have taken this time for yourself. You love the Hygge energy and clearly see how it can support you in all of life's winters...

What is Hygge?
Hygge is a Danish lifestyle concept that promotes comfort, warmth, and light. It can be summed up as a "coziness of the soul." While you can Hygge at any time of year, it is especially connected with fall and winter. Rather than resisting winter, Hygge invites us to lean into it through comfortable clothing, soft lighting, warm foods, and connecting with your friends or yourself.
